    How can I create Custom Fields in my InspectionXpert project?

    I want to add a custom field to meet my customers needs

    This article discusses how to utilize InspectionXpert's 'Custom Field' feature. This can be used for any custom item you are required to add to your ballooning/reporting process.

    Step-by-Step Guide:

    1. Go to the 'Home' tab
    2. Go to 'Options'
    3. Under 'Application Options' select 'Lists'
    4. Go to the 'Lists' column
    5. Select 'Custom Field (1)'
    6. When you select 'Custom Field (1)' the 'Custom Field Name' box appears at the bottom of the 'Lists' options, change the name if required and select the green check mark
    7. In the 'Values' column add your required values. This could be a number, finish, a note, or whatever you need it to be
    8. When you have finished adding your 'Custom Field' select 'Apply'
    9. Select 'OK'

    These custom lists and values are now available to you within the 'Properties/Preferences' panel under the 'Custom' drop-down menu to the left of your InspectionXpert screen.


    Now you will need to launch the Template Editor (from the File menu) and map the characteristic token for your new 'Custom Field' into a new column in your report template. Here is a link to a knowledge-base article that discusses this process.
